Dave Munson is the founder of SaddleBack Leather. Craftsman of the world’s finest leather laptop bags. I don’t know how I ran across Dave’s site over a year ago, but I was intrigues by his marketing technique, and of course his bags looked killer. Dave will sometimes go to the airport on Saturday, just to sit there with empty luggage waiting for people to ask about his leather bags. He has taken his bags underwater scuba diving, tied them to sticks and let crocodiles bite at them, and even trekked the sands of the Sahara just to test their durability.
Like all good things they aren’t cheap. Ask Dave why, and he’ll be happy to tell you about the years living in Mexico with his dog Blue, eating dollar tacos, living out his car all while searching the ends of Mexico for the best leather craftsman he could find.

Well, I prayed to God to find the world’s greatest bag and guess what; I found something better. I found an unbelievable leather craftsman. He didn’t speak much English and I didn’t speak much Spanish, but I told him I wanted him to make me the nicest satchel ever. I told him that I didn’t want any snaps or buttons or zippers because sooner or later they always break. I said I wanted it made with real tough leather, the thickest thread he could find and I wanted it to last. I wanted my grandkids to fight over it when I was dead.”
